Club Information

What is Open-Stats-4-Artists?
Open-Stats-4-Artists is an exciting (and relatively new) club, that enables creative deviants with varying range of talents and skill levels, to further their artistic development by doing requests, collaborations, and much more, for the deviantART community.

How can I join Open-Stats-4-Artists?

To join simply send a note titled "Join!" and we'll add you to the members list right away! We'll send a note back to let you know that you have been added. After you have been confirmed, watch this club and put the club icon in your journal.

Can I use the Open-Stats artists/writers list even if I'm not a member?
Of course you can look at the artists/writers list, but if you want to have your stats put up, you have to be a member.

Do you have a chatroom?
Yes, we do! #openstats. The chatroom is open to all members, and is there for you so you can discuss any projects requests, etc that you might want to take on. :)
We will soon have regular meeting times when the admins/mods will be there…more information on this will be posted shortly.

How can I become a moderator/admin/staff member?

Show us what you can do to help, if you wait patiently and prove you’re capable of tackling the large (and sometimes tedious) demands, we might note you to come and join the staff. :floating:
Just so you are aware :police: No amount of Begging, Bribery or Sucking Up will allow you to become a member of staff! Good, honest and helpful members are the ones who will be considered first when positions arise.

I faved a piece of art in your gallery and I got a note from you asking me to remove it-Why?
This is strictly against deviantART policy any member found to be abusing the favourites system may receive a temporary ban or in extreme or repetitive cases a ban from the club. You can read more about the deviantART policies here FAQ #295: What exactly is an "Abuse or Exploit of the System"? and here FAQ #216: Are there any rules for accounts being used as clubs or 'group' accounts?

The Who's, What's and How's!

What is a request?

One requests an artist to create a specific artwork, for no compensation. This can be as simple or as detailed as the artist is willing to offer for free.
:police: Please note! All members and non-members are at any time allowed to refuse or turn down a request or trade. However, if you post that you are open to take requests, and you agree to take them on, you should honour them!!

How do I post my stats?
To post you stats simply copy the template (The template is found in the link How to Join) into a note, fill it in and send it to the club. You CAN submit both a writer and artist profile, but they must be in separate notes. If the majority of work in your gallery is mature content, please let us know. That way we can put a warning next to your member’s stats. By doing so we can insure that everybody feels comfortable when viewing member’s galleries. :innocent:

Do I have to be a member to post my Stats?
You DO have to be a member to post your stats, joining as a member let's you post up works here as well. :thanks:

What are art trades?

Art trades are when two artists get together and each make a piece of art for one another it is called an art trade. Both of them request something from the other person, and then when they both finish they "trade" their pictures. The end result is usually very pleasing! :highfive:

What is a "collab" or "collaboration"?
A collab is when two or more artists work together to make a single work of art! :painter: There are many examples of collaborations around DA :devart: so go take a look. Remember, collaboration does not just have to be two artists joining together. There are many wonderful collabs where a cartoonist and a scriptwriter, or a fantasy writer and illustrator have produced amazing works! Excuse the phrase but ‘The Possibilities are endless!’

What is a commission?
One requests an artist to create a specific artwork, with compensation, usually monetary, to be determined by the artist. Usually an artist's commission rates are set, though they can be altered, at the artist's discretion.:buymyprints: Please remember: different people have different prices for commissions, so be sure to check first with the commissioner and don’t assume all rates will be the same. :XD:

How do I set up an artist's or a writer's profile?

Okay this is really simple! All you have to do is copy and paste the template under How to Join and fill out all the necessary sections, then note it back to the club! Easy!

I notice that the Artworks are put inside the Open-Stats-4-Artists gallery after you complete a request/art trade... do I have to send the link of the art to you?

You do not have to, but we would like to see your work. We love to showcase the work that our members do! :w00t!: We like to put up art work that has resulted from the trades, collabs, commissions or request that go on through this club, however it is up to you to let us know if you wish to submit something. By noting us you are giving us permission to post it on the club. If you don't want your pictures up here that is fine. If you would like to have a pic removed please let us know!

How do I change my request status?
To change your request status to ‘temporary closed’ note the club with the title of "stat change" to let us know, and we’ll change your profile, simple! However, please remember: It is your responsibility to let us know when you stop taking trades or requests. If at any time you would like to alter or remove your profile, please tell us.
